The basic steps to a cigar.
1st - Tobacco is cured, reducing the water and sugar content.

3rd - The cigar is made up of fillers, wrapped-up bunches of leaves inside the wrapper. Fillers of various strengths are can be blended to produce the desired cigar flavors. Fillers are either long or short; long filler uses whole leaves and is of a better quality, while short filler, also called "mixed", uses chopped leaves, stems, and other bits.
|
4th - The wrapper is the outer leaf of the cigar and comes from the widest part of the plant. The wrapper determines much of the cigar's character and flavor, it influences the immediate taste of the cigar in your mouth, and as such, its color is often used to describe the cigar as a whole. Colors range from a greenish hue to a dark brown, nearly black color.
